Jean Dietrick, who is the Business Manager for Cinnaminson Fire Department, was diagnosed with breast cancer more than a decade ago. Her personal statement explains things best:
“I was diagnosed with breast cancer, fought the battle, and am now a survivor. It was awesome when members of the department came to me and wanted to show support during breast cancer awareness month by running a fundraiser in my honor. For years we have raised funds for Virtua’s Tyanna Barre O’Brien Breast Care Comfort Fund. As a survivor I am humbled and honored by the caring and support the department has shown as they help support women who are currently fighting the battle.”
Each year, Cinnaminson Fire Department has a “fundraising season,” beginning in late August and running through October – breast cancer awareness month – which features creative events such as a movie night, Touch-a-Truck Family Fun Day, Dine and Donate, and more.
Since 2012, Cinnaminson Fire Department has raised more than $60,000 to support Virtua’s Tyanna Barre O’Brien Breast Care Comfort Fund, bringing compassionate assistance such as transportation, financial assistance, custom-fitted wigs, special post-surgical garments, and more to breast cancer patients at Virtua. We are grateful for their efforts and their commitment to making a difference!
