Supporting the Franklinville Fire Company Cancer Fund

Established in 2017, the Franklinville Fire Company Cancer Fund provides resources for residents of Gloucester County who are being treated for cancer at Virtua. The generous creation of this fund was in response to the way that cancer has impacted the members and families of the fire company.

Chief Dana DeCesari explains that fund allows Franklinville Fire Company “to give back to those in our community who are struggling with cancer in honor of our members recently lost and members past, future and present.” Fundraising efforts have included “fill the boot” drives, t-shirt sales, paint nights, a family fun day and more. Established in response to tragedy, the Franklinville Fire Company Cancer Fund prevents further tragedy and reduces suffering for Gloucester County residents.

In February 2022, Virtua was proud to congratulate Franklinville Fire Company on its 100th anniversary, and at the centennial gala received with gratitude a pledge for continued support of the Franklinville Fire Company Cancer Fund.
