Run with the Docs

Going the Extra Mile

Run with the Docs is a 5k run and 1-mile walk created in 2015 by a committee of caregivers who recognized the need for additional support for families who experience the tragedy of miscarriage or infant loss.

“Our community’s outpouring of love and support for local families has made a tremendous difference over the years,” says Stacy McCrosson, MD, chair of the Run with the Docs event committee. “In my decades of experience as an OB/GYN physician, I have seen first-hand how important it is for grieving patients and families to get the right kind of compassionate support and resources they need during their time of need.”

Run with the Docs grow bigger each year while still remaining a deeply meaningful day for the families who participate. And the impact on Virtua’s Perinatal Bereavement program is substantial: Since 2015, Run with the Docs has raised more than $550,000, helping Virtua to ensure that families who experience loss have access to a multidisciplinary range of services, compassionate communication and care, financial assistance, and more.
