AED Community Initiative
AED Community Initiative
Every year, more than 350,000 people suffer a sudden cardiac arrest, with approximately 16% of them occurring in a public setting. Ensuring our community has access to Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) can make a tremendous difference in the minutes before a first responder arrives. AEDs can be used by virtually anyone during an emergency – even those with no medical training – and they can nearly double the rate of survival. Thanks to generous gifts, in the past several years Virtua has distributed more than 100 AEDs to local sports fields, places of worship, community organizations, and more.
