Humanitarian of the Year

James E. George, MD, JD

Artist, Philanthropist, and Founding Member of TeamHealth

We are pleased to recognize Dr. James E. George as Humanitarian of the Year for his compassion, generosity, and remarkable contributions to improving the health and well-being of our community. Through his leadership in emergency medicine and passion for the healing arts, Dr. George has inspired hope and uplifted generations of children and families across South Jersey.

About the Beneficiary

Proceeds from the 2024 Virtua Health Gala will benefit our Eat Well Food Access Programs, which bring fresh, healthy food to under-resourced communities in southern New Jersey.

With the help of our philanthropic partners, Virtua’s food access program has made a significant impact on the lives of thousands of families in our community. Since 2017, our Eat Well Mobile Farmers Market, Eat Well Food Pharmacies, and our new Eat Well Mobile Grocery Store have become trusted resources that our community and patients have come to rely on. Together, we are working to ensure that our neighbors, regardless of what zip code they call home, have access to the fresh, healthy, and affordable foods they deserve.
